Active, any sport
In shape, but it doesn't show?
Lifting, running, swimming, pickleball: if you put in the work and it doesn't show yet, it's usually a few pounds of fat on top. Workouts build it. Food reveals it. Doubles gives you two numbers a day, calories and protein, so the fat comes off and the muscle stays.

Why the workouts alone aren't showing it
It's the layer on top.
Most people who work out have built more than they can see. A steady calorie deficit takes off the fat that's covering it.
Protein keeps what you built.
You get a protein minimum every day, so you lose fat, not muscle. Your partner nudges you before the day runs out.
See it before the scale does.
Workouts, steps and sleep come in from Apple Health, and your waist, photos and lifts sit next to the scale, so you know it's working.
Questions
Why don't I look like I work out?
Usually it's body fat, not a lack of muscle. Even with good muscle, a layer of fat hides definition. Eating in a modest deficit with plenty of protein, while you keep training, is what makes it show. General information, not medical advice.
Should I cut or recomp?
If you have more fat to lose, a cut is usually faster. If you're fairly new to lifting or already close to lean, a recomp can work. Your partner can talk it through with you, and you can switch any time.
Do I have to give up foods I like?
No. Nothing's banned. If it fits your two numbers, it's on the menu, drinks included.
Will you change my training?
No. Doubles isn't a workout plan. Your training stays yours; Doubles counts your workouts from Apple Health and keeps notes on your lifts if you want.
Whatever your reason, don't do it alone.
